If you’re like most of my clients, you’re always thinking about food and trying to lose weight.

When you feel out of control around food, the rest of your life feels out of control, too.

Your battles with overeating and dieting are exhausting and frustrating.

And worse, when it comes to dieting, you’re feeling like a failure, and wondering “what am I doing wrong?”

I want you to know that you’re not a failure. Diets have failed you.

You've been led to believe that weight-loss means having the life you want. That your problems will go away in a thinner body. You'll be less anxious, feel better about yourself and finally be happy.

But losing weight or always trying to lose weight has never brought you any peace, has it?

Cultural messages have duped us. It’s not your fault.

Emotional eating can feel like you’re constantly in a painful internal battle. You don’t know what to do with your emotions so you eat when you're not hungry and it only fills you with guilt and shame.

It’s like you’re trapped in a prison.

I understand. I’ve been there myself. And I know firsthand that it’s possible to feel free around food.

Food isn’t the problem. Your emotions aren’t the problem. Emotional eating is simply a symptom, a cry for help.

Your needs aren't being met and you've been trying to find relief with food. That doesn't make you wrong or bad.

In fact, you've been doing the best you can with the tools you've got.

Are you ready to write a new story around your relationship with food and your body?

Curious to find out if One-to-One Coaching is right for you? Book a 30-minute Clarity Call with me.

On this 30 minute call, we will explore if this program is right for you right now.

No matter what you decide, I’ll be sure to offer you plenty of resources to support you along your journey.

Here’s How this One-to-One Coaching Program Works:

  1. I’ll invite you to complete an assessment so I have a thorough understanding of your current relationship with food and your body.

  2. Once I’m clear around your struggles, we’ll customize a plan that’s anchored in support and self-care, versus discipline and self-control.

  3. We’ll schedule one-hour sessions over Zoom. Sessions can be scheduled weekly or less frequently depending on your schedule, energy level or desire to take coaching at a slower pace.  I record our calls and send them to you afterward so you can listen to them again if you choose to.

  4. We alternate coaching and mindfulness/energy focused sessions. In mindfulness/energy sessions, I offer yoga, meditation, mindfulness practices, remote Reiki, Emotion Code, and other healings. Time permitting, we check in with your progress and whatever support you may need.

  5. While you’re a One-to-One client, email and text support is offered between sessions to check-in and see how you’re doing. During this time, you’ll also have complimentary access to my course library.

With those diet programs, I always felt defeated, sad, guilty, frustrated and pissed off that I failed another diet and was afraid of gaining back the weight.

Your approach with intuitive eating has shown me to believe in myself and has given me hope that I can do this.

My body clearly speaks to me and I’m listening to it!

Your energy is amazing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and gifts with me!

I’m so grateful to have had this time with you Thank you!”

“Working with Tara has been life-changing.

Like most women I know, I’ve had an on-going love-hate relationship with food, my weight and my body. I’ve studied, read, worked with nutritionists and followed programs for years, but Tara’s approach offered a totally new and enlightening perspective.

After only one session, I finally understood the faulty programming that has been running in my head since my early adolescent years. I’ve approached food through the lens of health and wellness, but working with Tara allowed me to see that it was actually a dieting and deprivation mindset in disguise.

This new “food freedom journey” I discovered with Tara has been a miracle for me! I truly wish every woman in the world I could have a session with her, and develop a partnership with food and their body, as Tara has guided me to do. I have not felt this happy and healthy, especially in regard to my body, in years.

Tara, I am so grateful that you came into my life and that you’re doing the work you’re doing in the world!”

~ Kasey Mathews, Author, Speaker, Book-Writing and Transformational Life Coach www.kaseymathews.com

Tara is a master of Intuitive Eating.  Don’t let that scare you, she’s real and has an answer or inquiry that will be just right for you.

She’s been there and knows what it’s like. She’s gentle and non-judgmental along with a healthy dose of fierceness in supporting the world in the mission to embody Intuitive Eating.

I took a group class with Tara and did some 1-on-1 coaching and I watched as she quickly was able to guide and educate. I first leaned and resonated with her by reading her book on Intuitive Eating and was pleasantly surprised by how masterful she is working with her.”

“I've removed the idea of "shouldn't have foods" from eating which amazingly removed my cravings and uncontrolled eating.”

~ KG, New York

WHILE WORKING TOGETHER, WE’LL FOCUS ON:

  • Tuning into the signals of your body (attunement) so you can recognize your hunger and fullness.

  • Expanding the tools in your toolbox to help you self-soothe.

  • Learning how to process emotions so the painful patterns of emotional eating don’t continue to repeat themselves over and over.

  • Creating compassionate self-talk and ways to be more flexible and kinder with yourself.

  • Understanding diet culture and the thin body ideal so you can uncover the original source of your struggle with your own body and food.

  • Getting to know yourself, your likes and dislikes, your own unique patterns and strengths so you can tailor your relationship with food in a way that feels powerful and aligned.

  • Eating to satisfaction, which is a powerful way of eating where you feel nourished, content and filled with vitality.

Here are some common benefits of Intuitive Eating, you’ll:

  1. Feel more relaxed around food.

  2. Have other ways to support your emotions besides food.

  3. Choose movement for pleasure and fun instead of just to burn calories.

  4. Have less food cravings.

  5. Spend less time obsessing about food and focus more on things that matter to you.

  6. Know when to start and stop eating based on the needs of your body.

  7. Have more confidence around food and in other areas of your life.

  8. Enjoy food and be more tuned into the experience of eating.

  9. Improve how you care for yourself.

  10. Recognize the need for rest, creating boundaries, processing emotions, and spiritual connection and will learn how to tend to them.

Hi! I’m Tara. I grew up dieting. I started eating emotionally when I was 12.

ROA_8991.jpg

I spent decades trying to figure out why I couldn’t stay in control of food. I saw therapists, nutritionists, read countless books and joined programs, some for weight loss and some for emotional eating.

It wasn’t until I found Intuitive Eating that my relationship with food slowly started to change. Through yoga, meditation and Intuitive Eating practices, I became mindful and tuned into my body when I ate. I took myself off the rollercoaster of dieting and woke myself up from the trance of emotional eating.

That’s when I realized all of my struggles were for a reason. I found my way to trust my body and feel free around food so I could guide passionate women who want a nourishing relationship with food to do the same.

Besides being a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I’m also a yoga teacher, Reiki Master, and Certified Emotion Code Practitioner. I love to incorporate mindfulness and energy healing into my teachings and my work with clients.

Frequently asked questions:

10 Principles of Intuitive Eating (1).png

1. What is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive Eating was developed as an anti-diet model for those looking to create a healthy relationship with food. Intuitive Eating has 10 principles that are designed to be guidelines and not rules.

With over 100 research studies demonstrating the benefits of Intuitive Eating, its principles are starting to be used in clinical settings because of its evidence based outcomes.

Intuitive Eating is a way of life. Many of us are born instinctively recognizing our bodies signals when we’re full without much thought or doubt. Along the way, dieting and emotional eating patterns likely interfered with listening to our body’s needs.

Intuitive Eating is the practice of re-learning how to use the sensations in our bodies to guide our relationship with food.

2. Will you help me lose weight?

My courses and coaching programs do not focus on weight loss. Weight loss practices, like weighing yourself, restricting certain foods, trying to limit how much you eat despite your hunger and fullness signals, are obstacles to Intuitive Eating.

Trying to lose weight gets in the way of practicing Intuitive Eating.

3. Do you tell me what to eat and give me advice around food?

I don’t. You’re the expert of your body. I’ll help guide you to discover for yourself what to eat and how to eat, which will help you build confidence in how to make your own food choices.

4. What makes you unique from other coaches?

You and I have different lived experiences, but I do know the struggle of emotional eating and dieting from a very young age. I know what it’s like to join Weight Watchers, lose a bunch of weight and then gain it back. Sadly, I know what it’s like to be bullied because of my body. As much as I’ve been trained in Intuitive Eating and life coaching, I’ll also be guiding you from my own experiences.

As a yoga teacher, a lot of the coaching framework I use comes from yogic principles. Mindfulness, acceptance and awareness are just a few areas that I readily bring into my coaching.

As a Reiki Master and a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner, I offer my clients remote energy healing. Our patterns with food also show up in our bodies. By helping to move energy around trapped emotions, my clients feel lighter, restored and are able to create more momentum with new practices around food.

5. What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?

As a coach and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I focus on guiding you to take action and make concrete change. During each session, we co-create an action plan on what to focus on.

I do not replace or substitute for a therapist needed for those that are healing from an eating disorder. I have not been trained as a therapist and do not offer therapeutic mental health services. If you’re wondering if you have an eating disorder, this assessment on the EAT-26.com website may be a helpful resource. The National Eating Disorders Associations offers resources and support.
